BRITISH CHALK BRACHYURA (CRABS) |
In the sandy facies of the SW the isolated carapaces of many species of small crab occur frequently. Elsewhere in the Chalk Group crabs are extremely scarce and rank amongst the rarest of Chalk fossils. Small, isolated fingers may be found with tolerable frequency in the Grey Chalk and are probably assignable to the Brachyura.
