Graptocarcinus (Roemer, 1887)

 

A form known from the sandy Grey Chalk-equivalent facies of SW England, with a single record from the White Chalk of Sussex.  The carapace is flattened with relatively subtle ornament

 

 

1).  Graptocarcinus cf. texanus (?) - A unique isolated carapace from the White Chalk (x3.7, Friar's Bay, Peacehaven, Sussex, Newhaven Chalk Formation, Old Nore Beds, Randell Collection, RR1868).
